Explanation

The statistics are based on information submitted in income tax returns, salary statements etc. This means that income and capital withheld from the tax authorities are completely excluded.

Capital (assets minus debts) of less than 900,000 Skr does not need to be reported. Capital tax is levied on that part of the capital that exceeds 900,000 Skr. Spouses and partners who have or have had children together, are taxed jointly as regards capital and their capital is aggregated.
