Explanation

The statistics are based on information presented in tax returns, in salary statements etc. This means that income and capital withheld from the tax authorities is completely excluded. The SCBTB register (Statistics Sweden's taxation data) comprises the population that at some time in the income year was registered in Sweden. Persons who died or emigrated during the income year are included in the statistics. The basic data is taken from the National Tax Administration's (RSV) income tax return data, which consists of taxation data and salary statements.
