District heating supply by type of plants

Explanation

The annual survey of electricity and district heating describes production and consumption of electricity, district heating and gas.
Reported output from heating plants is grouped by production method:

  • combined heat and power - heat produced in conjunction with electricity generation
  • other fuel-based production
  • electric boiler
  • flue gas condensation
  • heat pump

Data are gathered on production and turnover volumes at the heating plants, as well as on electricity and fuel consumption. Heat produced for industrial processes in the industry’s heat and power plants is not included in the statistics for electricity and district heating.
