Explanation

The main rule is that a person is unemployed during the measurement week if he/she is not occupied, and in addition, meets the following criteria:

- Wishes to work.
- Can take a job within 14 days.
- Has applied for a job within the past four weeks, or
anticipates beginning a new job shortly (within four weeks).
