1. Trade with countries outside the EUFor companies trading with countries outside the EU the following data is used, taken from the export applications and import declarations that the companies submit to the Customs in connection with the export/ import of goods. The presented imports by country of origin from countries outside the EU comprise only the goods that have been finally cleared by the Customs in Sweden and not goods from third countries imported into Sweden via another EU state (e.g. Japanese cars imported into Sweden after Customs clearance in the Netherlands).2. Trade with EU statesThe total goods value of trade with EU states is calculated with the help of two digital bases. The main base (approximately 96% of exports and approximately 93% of imports) is data directly collected monthly from companies with an annual export or import trade with EU states amounting to at least 1,500,000 Skr. The data supplied by the companies are presented by commodity and by EU state. Data collection, which is carried out by Statistics Sweden, is in the form of a special statistical survey - Intrastat. The trade value of the non-respondents and of the companies not required to submit details is estimated by using data from the VAT returns.These data apply only to the value of intra-EU goods acquisition and deliveries that the company declares each month.
